A native Texan and family man, Mark Toronjo is a husband and father of two. He knows the importance of building and protecting a solid foundation for his family and values spending his time outdoors with his wife and children.
He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in political science. He then pursued his graduate studies in Law at the University of Richmond in Virginia, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate.
After returning to Texas, he went to work for U.S. government as an attorney for the Small Business Administration in Dallas, where he gained knowledge in contracts and FEMA Loans during the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. “Everyday I spoke with people from all different backgrounds needing help “maneuvering” through the system. They just wanted to get their lives back, and I was going to do what I could to help them…”
Mark returned home to Huntsville, Texas to gain experience at a local firm that practiced primarily in civil litigation, criminal defense, and business planning. With the state prison being located practically on his doorsteps, he gained considerable experience in criminal defense, and perfected his craft as a litigating attorney. While in Huntsville, he met and married his wife of now 6 years.
Soon after, he moved back to Dallas and went to work for what was then a small bankruptcy firm. Starting out as a firm with only three attorneys, it quickly grew into one of the largest filing firms in Texas, filing close to 300 cases a month. There he gained his expertise in bankruptcy. Mark has personally filed over 2000 cases in the past 5 years, and through all that he was able to help countless people rebuild their financial lives, and help raise two children of his own.
While thinking about where to take his career next, Mark asked the question, “what would be most helpful for his clients? Sometimes, while in bankruptcy, you need more than a “bankruptcy” attorney, you also might need someone to help with other legal issues that arise. Given his experience representing clients in family law matters, criminal defense, personal injury, business litigation and general civil litigation. Mark concluded that there was no reason he should limit his practice to a small narrow niche of the legal needs of his clients. But in order to provide the highest quality services to his clients utilizing all of his past experience and knowledge Mark needed to start a new kind of law firm, not one designed solely to help large corporations and businesses but one that was not only accessible to small business and consumers but affordable as well. A firm that did not try to fit every client into the same round hole but one that could take the time and attention needed to sit down with the client and discuss all of their legal needs and craft a plan to address each and every one of them .Out of this desire to grow both personally and professionally while providing the highest quality care for his clients was born Toronjo & Prosser Law. A small full service firm dedicated to giving their clients the services they need when they need them.
